Re-Source York:
Donation Pick-up Terms & Conditions

By submitting this request, you agree to the following terms regarding the pick-up of your donated items:

1. Quality and Acceptance Standards
  • Resale Condition: To support our mission, we can only accept items that are in good, usable, and sellable condition. Items must be free of major stains, pet hair, mold, smoke odors, or structural damage (tears, broken frames, etc.).
  • Right of Refusal: Our drivers have the sole discretion to refuse any item upon arrival if it does not meet our quality standards, is unsafe to move, or is not an item we currently accept. Re-Source York is not a disposal service.
2. Logistics and Access
  • The “3-Step” Rule: Standard pick-ups include items located on a ground floor or a location with no more than three (3) exterior/interior steps. If the items are located on a higher floor, there must be a working elevator available that can accommodate the size of the furniture.
  • Staging: Whenever possible, please have items moved to a garage, driveway, or covered porch. This speeds up our route and allows us to serve more community members.
  • Obstacles: All pathways must be clear of debris, ice, and personal property. Our team will not move existing furniture or personal belongings to access the donation.
3. Safety and Conduct
  • Animals: For the safety of our team, all pets must be secured in a separate room or crate before the truck arrives.
  • Environment: We reserve the right to refuse pick-up if the environment is deemed unsanitary or unsafe for our personnel.
  • Weather: In the event of extreme weather (ice, heavy snow, or thunderstorms), RSY may contact you to reschedule for a later date.
4. Liability Waiver
  • Property Damage: While our team takes the utmost care, Re-Source York is not liable for incidental damage to the property (floors, walls, doorframes) during the removal of heavy items, especially those in tight spaces or involving narrow turns.
  • Gross Negligence: RSY is only responsible for property damage caused by proven gross negligence of personnel, limited to the extent of our current insurance coverage.
5. Tax Documentation
  • Receipts: We will provide a donation receipt at the time of pick-up.
  • Valuation: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, RSY is legally prohibited from assigning a monetary value to your donation. Valuation for tax purposes is the sole responsibility of the donor.
